Wellspring links local adults and young adults with college and other post-secondary education opportunities, job-specific skills training and living wage jobs. Thanks to a recent grant from the Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals Community Collaborative Grants Program, Wellspring will be tailoring our services to the current needs of local families and businesses to ‘Accelerate Access to Higher Education and Employment’.

The Challenge: The median wage of North Shore residents (approximately $42,000) falls far below what’s needed to cover a true cost of living.

The Solution: Families seeking to move out of financial crisis must increase their employment earnings by securing higher paying jobs in stable industries.

Industries that hold the most promise on the North Shore:

➡️ Health care jobs
➡️ Advanced manufacturing
➡️ Information technology

Wellspring’s full slate of Adult Education, Job Training and Career Readiness services have continued uninterrupted since the COVID-19 pandemic began. This year we are offering a combination of in-person, hybrid and remote learning opportunities, one-to-one mentoring, a computer loan and wifi hot spot loan program to approximately 225 local residents from Gloucester, Beverly, Rockport, Essex, Ipswich, Peabody, Lynn, Salem and other nearby communities.
