For low-income families, the holidays can find parents in the position of choosing between buying gifts for their children or falling behind on bills. Wellspring’s donor-driven Holiday Store makes it possible for eligible low-income families to provide gifts for their children at a nominal expense: $2 buys three toys and one book per child. In order to make this program possible, Wellspring relies heavily on community toy drives.
Gloucester Fire and Police Departments, Manchester Fire and Police Departments, Cornerstone Church in Manchester and Gloucester Flag Football are all hosting toy drives for Wellspring House.
New, unwrapped and non-violent gifts may be dropped off at the Manchester Fire Station located at 12 School Street in Manchester and the Gloucester Fire Station located at 8 School Street in downtown Gloucester from November 26 to December 8, 2016. Gifts may also be dropped off at the Cornerstone Church at 20 School St. during business and service hours.
