Find Family Shelter
Find family shelter & housing services
Wellspring House is part of a statewide shelter system that helps to house families in Gloucester and provides stabilization case management to families throughout the North Shore communities of Lynn, Peabody, Beverly, Salem, Danvers, and Cape Ann.
How do I get started?
All families seeking shelter should apply online here. Families who are requesting emergency shelter should call the Executive Office of Housing & Liveable Communities’ (EOHLC) Emergency Assistance Line at (866) 584-0653 to speak with a Homeless Coordinator. Once you contact a Homeless Coordinator and have started the application process, Wellspring can help you understand requirements, put your documents together and assist with communication with EOHLC. For help after you have already spoken with a Homeless Coordinator, contact Wellspring’s Homelessness Prevention Line at (978) 281-3558, ext. 314. Calls are returned on weekdays, Monday – Friday, within 24 hours.
I’m an individual in crisis, how do I find shelter?
Wellspring House is a family shelter. If you are an individual (youth or adult), who is requesting emergency shelter you can find a list of shelters and more information here.
What can my family and I expect once we move into a Wellspring shelter?
One of our immediate goals is to provide guests with the tools to move into a sustainable housing situation outside of shelter. Our dedicated team provides hands-on support for a variety of different needs, such as housing and job research, budgeting, medical care assistance and insurance, English classes, translation and more. Wellspring staff also provide assistance to guests who move out of shelter and find housing in the North Shore area
I need affordable housing. Can Wellspring help?
Wellspring provides limited affordable housing for single-occupancy individuals. Each person pays a monthly rent based on income. Subsidies for the program are made available through our partnership with the Gloucester Housing Authority. If you are interested in this program, please contact Gloucester Housing Authority.
Wellspring’s shelter program is state funded. Applying for shelter through the state does not mean that you will be sheltered in Gloucester with Wellspring.
