Career Pathways Fellow

Wellspring House seeks applications from eligible candidates for a 7-month, full-time, paid Americorps fellowship in partnership with the United Way of Massachusetts Bay & Merrimack Valley and in accordance with national Americorps guidelines. The Fellow will be part of Wellspring’s Career Pathways team with a focus on young adults in the communities of Cape Ann (Gloucester, Rockport, Manchester, Essex, and Ipswich) to help them gain further training, education and skills to secure sustainable jobs that will pay living wages.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conduct outreach to recent Gloucester High School graduates (class of 2018, 2019, 2020)
  • Provide career/post-secondary education support
  • Assist in developing and teaching a life skills curriculum to a current GHS senior English class
  • Regular updating and maintenance of Wellspring student database
  • Assist with ongoing communication to and with Mentors

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent US Resident
  • High School Diploma or GED or higher
  • Between the ages of 17 and 29 as of August 1st 2020
  • Experience with full MS Office and Google Suites of applications
  • Experience with virtual teaching or a strong desire to learn it
  • Experience with and/or commitment to youth development
  • Desire to work with diverse people, organizations and communities
  • Commitment to service
  • Invested in working in the communities of Gloucester / Cape Ann
  • Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Portuguese strongly preferred
