On October 5, 2024, Wellspring celebrated our 30-year ongoing partnership with Brookwood School.
Wellspring House is deeply grateful for its enduring 30-year partnership with Brookwood School, which has played a vital role in supporting our Shelter, Homelessness Prevention, and Family Stabilization programs. Over the years, Brookwood’s first-grade students have not only learned about essential human needs like shelter and housing but have also actively engaged with Wellspring’s community in meaningful ways. Through their generosity, they have provided the makings of holiday meals, donated gifts to children living in Wellspring’s family shelter, and assembled “leaving baskets” for individuals transitioning into stable housing.
Additionally, these students have contributed to creating a serene and welcoming environment for clients meeting with Wellspring case managers, as well as for students coming to Wellspring to take their High School Equivalency exams. Their efforts have had a lasting impact, making a difference not just to Wellspring, but to the many individuals and families we serve. A student recently shared, “I travel a bit to get here, but it’s worth it because you [Wellspring] make me feel so comfortable.”
Each year, Wellspring supports approximately 450 individuals who seek our programs and services, enabling them to move into or remain in stable housing, and improve their income to support their families. We are committed to helping local families achieve long-term financial stability and a better quality of life. However, with the rising cost of living, more and more local parents are facing severe housing crises. Wellspring works closely with 150 families annually, providing holistic services that include financial planning, access to education and training opportunities, landlord negotiations to prevent housing loss, and distributing $30,000 in mini-grants to help parents overcome barriers to staying employed or continuing their education.
