Education and Job Training

Robert Clark Rogers Educational Opportunity Fund

In 2001, on Wellspring’s 20th Anniversary celebration, long-time Wellspring friends and supporters Bob Rogers and Frank Robinson announced that they were establishing a scholarship fund that would assist adults struggling to advance their studies in college. The fund was inspired by Bob’s experience of growing up in a single parent home and understanding first-hand the difference education can make.

In 2006 the first scholarship awards were made, and since then grants and awards totaling $24,720 have been made to 30 students. Awards are made once or twice a year, depending on fund availability.

To be eligible a student has successfully completed a Wellspring education program and has formally enrolled in a college or job training program. Letters and emails are sent to eligible graduates. If interested, a completed application and an interview with the scholarship are required. The awards can be used for any education related expenses such as books, computers or transportation costs.
