Wellspring’s 21st Annual Luncheon
Join us on May 6 at the Double Tree Hotel in Danvers, MA from 11:30 am – 2:00 pm for an intimate look at how Wellspring’s personal approach in guiding students and parents to move forward in their lives makes a significant and lasting impact.
We are delighted to host Helen Riess, M.D., author of The Empathy Effect, as our keynote speaker. Dr. Riess is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. She directs the Empathy & Relational Science Program, conducting research on the neuroscience of emotions and empathy, and is Co-Founder, Chief Scientist and Chairman of Empathetics, LLC. She is also a core member of the Research Consortium for Emotional Intelligence and is a faculty member of the Harvard Macy Institute for Physician. A book signing will directly follow the luncheon!
Luncheon guests will be introduced to a Wellspring student along with one of our dedicated volunteers who will illustrate the importance of authentic relationships and their role in creating successful outcomes. You can be assured that there is room for greater empathy in each of our lives.
About The Empathy Effect: Empathy is undergoing a new evolution. In a global and interconnected culture, we can no longer afford to identify only with people who seem to be a part of our “tribe.” As Dr. Helen Riess of Harvard Medical School has learned, our capacity for empathy is not just an innate trait—it is also a skill that we can learn and expand. With The Empathy Effect, the leading researcher presents a groundbreaking teaching book to help us learn essential skills for transforming the way we relate to others in any situation.
